He had never seen his father so emotional before. King Wryvern couldn't react with just one emotion to the assassination of his beloved wife. He was beyond frothing with rage at the man who murdered her as she took a bath, he was stressed with the war to the point his beard began to turn white. He was scared that if someone could kill his wife, they could kill the only heir to the throne as well. His decision to send Yenji to the stronghold was to preserve him in the fear that if a regicide happens after his wife's burial, that the prince shall be spared.

While Wryvern's decision was sound, Yenji never got a chance to mourn his mother. He didn't have a chance to see her in the morgue or grieve with his father. The journey to the stronghold began difficult with that fact, yet would only become more difficult as he mourned. He promised himself that when he returns, he'll speak with his mother in the family crypt. He needed to tell her a lot he wasn't able to in life, one of them asking for forgiveness for leaving so abruptly.
