something that may help, and that will avoid the endless "he said, then she said" boredom is to find different ways of associating a character with their dialogue, most of the time this is as simple as more creative ways of phrasing "this character said:" but if you're clever, you can link actions or body language to it as well.
Usually I stop the "he said she said" when it's just two people talking unless I want to convey a feeling beyond just talking because I tend to think the reader can keep up with who is talking. Missing true format since it's in .txt probably makes it harder to read at times as well
