Finally finished up this pic after letting it chill for a while.
I just wanted to do a fun pinup of my avatar, and man do I love tarot card imagery (but really, who doesn't).
Anyway, I also love Fire Emblem armor and blunt weapons (blade can suck it, unless it's Chillrend) so I drew some of those. Haha, nerd things.

Haha, fen, but fire emblem is so much fuuuun. Actually, full confession time, I bought Shadow Dragon (the DS remake of the first game) when it came out and still haven't played past the sixth level, because that game "rewards" you with gaiden chapters for letting your dudes die, and I am the kind of player who when people die hits restart. But other than that game, very fun.
The eyes are two different colors because my real eyes are two different colors, and no, it is not fun or cool in real life (with pretty much every person they eventually get this look on their face and then they're like "hey! did you know..." and I'm like "My eyes are two different colors. No I do not know the genetic reason. No, you are not the first person to mention it.").

Oh man I love Fire Emblem but I am /terrible/ at it! I got quite far in the first GBA game, I totally loved that you created a tactician character, and it would bring a tear to my eye when they "died" and they'd be like "x, forgive me... I failed yo-". Sacred Stones I barely played because of that damn character who you have to talk to who attacks you with a Killing Edge sword every time you get within chatting distance.
Shadow Dragon is literally impossible to find here in the UK. All the online retailers I had accounts with sold out, I searched every shop (About 8 in a big city) for months and they never stocked it. Eventually I cracked and had it on the R4 card. Likewise, I've not played beyond the first few levels. x-D
I still have a brand new copy of Path of Radiance I barely played, even though I sold my Wii, and I haven't touched Radiant Dawn, though I heard good things about it. The 3-D art direction just seemed... Grungy and dull to me.
As for the eye thing, I will endeavour not to stare, should I hop across the pond for a con or what have you. =-P
I kind of thought of you more as a lizard critter than a feline, I must admit.

I used to not like Sacred Stones much but I replayed it a few months ago and now I love it. The ability to grind units totally breaks the game, but it's very appealing to me. Joshua is annoying to get I'll admit, but he's a really good unit, so it evens out. I always angst over whether to use him or Marissa as my swordmaster; I wish you could class change myrmidons into heroes!
Path of Radiance is really good, and Radiant Dawn is nice and long so it offers lots of playtime. The one thing about RD I disliked the most was the artificial hardness, the first few missions are pretty damn difficult even on normal because your units are so crappy. What I loved about eight was that almost every character had the potential to be really good, so you could play with your favorites, but in ten you're more or less punished for using units the game doesn't favor (Fiona is next to impossible to use except on easy, Meg is pretty infuriating to use on normal and higher, and good luck using Tormod or Vika unless you have mountains of BEXP because they miss 80% of the game)
Anyway blah blah blah. I liked the sketch you noted me, BTW. I'd say finish it! But I hate when people prod me like that :P

Hrrm, in that case I might go back and dig SS out of my neglected GBA games hamper. I must admit that you seem light years ahead in terms of the game mechanics. I kind of resent having to treat a level like a puzzle with one solution with the game designer's favourite characters sometimes. That's how I got hung up in the first GBA game. That pirate sneaking mission, I desperately wanted to kill all the evil knights who you're meant to sneak past. x-D
As for that sketch, well, if you peek through the rest of the PB, there's several dozen abandoned sketches like that, some further along, plus scans from my sketchbooks. It's a neat set up so I'll have another scribble at it maybe. It was a deliberate attempt at Angrboda bait, due to the needles. x-D
