Celadon getting roped again! Man feels like it’s been a life time since I did my name sake here XD I was expecting to do this sort of thing a lot more than I ended up doing but I still do it and enjoy it so I see no reason to change the name. As for the piece itself, I talked a while back about wanting to remake the original raptor roping pages, as they were the first long running series I had every done (having 10 or so parts to it) and I still like them but they certainly show their age and I think this piece is far superior to the original piece personally in pretty much every conceivable way. Extremely how this guy came together. As many of you know though, I don’t like doing the same thing over and over, and even when I do a remake, I change it up and make it look noticeably different than the original as well, this will be no different and the images and way the Theropod will roped will be different from the original as well.
One other thing I want to talk a little about, Celadon might look a little different here, well that’s because he does look different, I decided to introduce his redesign during the remake, so what we shall see is his new coloration and appearance. The design should still similar, but it took some inspiration from Silver, giving Celadon a more striped sort of look like she has, and he also has a pinkish orange underbelly instead of it being solid tan like it used to be. The basic design is still the same though, green and tan with his lower arms and legs being tan. The angle he is in might make these things less noticeable though, other poses will show it off better, I think.
That pretty much covers that, I hope you guys enjoy this little run. I don’t write stories very often, but the original series had one, so this one shall as well. The images will not go down the same exact way as the original and as such the story will not either and as such, the written version will be all new as well. So, without a further ado, hope you enjoy and more to come!

The Silver light of the full moon slashed through the clouds onto the sandy surface below, illuminating the man knelt on one knee, inspecting the mark on the ground left by the scaly foot of the intruder who had come and gone earlier. Exactly how much earlier was what he sought to figure out as he studied the edges of the track. Eventually an impatient, skinny man in a white shirt and brown pants approached.
“Well Charles, you can get him right?!” He asked with a grumble.
The man on the ground beckoned for one of his associates, a man named Norman Gran, to come to him, “track is fresh, no sign of drying at all, I bet it hasn’t even been an hour since he left.”
Norman nodded but was cut off by the man in white, “Well?!”
“Mr. Starn, I think I can personally assure you, we’ll have him tonight.” He finally responded, turning to the man.
“Thank god, I’ve been asking you guys to catch them for over a month now Charles!” he responded, no less irritably than before despite hearing exactly what he wanted to hear.
Charles just paused, “Indeed.” He turned to Norman, “This fellow is a slippery one, I want to be off and after him as soon as possible, got get the others.” Norman nodded and ran off to get them.
“I don’t suppose I’ll be compensated for the damages I’ve suffered, will I?” Mr. Starn responded.
“I’m merely a government trapper my friend, I’m not the one to ask about that. My job is simply to find and capture, nothing more.” Charles responded before mounting a horse who’s brown coat matched Charles mostly leather outfit. “I can say this though, he won’t be costing you anymore, you and your livestock won’t have to worry about him and if I play my cards right, I might be able to get the female too.”
“Good.” He responded and walked off.
The Green and Tan Theropod known by the men as Celadon made about five miles or so from the farmland, the hunt had gone horrible wrong. Usually things went very smoothly, leap the fence, pounce a goat, be gone within five minutes. No trouble at all. Things didn’t go down that way tonight though, no, him getting away uninjured was about the only thing that went right.
The predator stopped to catch its breath. It took a few deep breaths, head down and it closed its eyes, allowing the cool night air to fill his lungs. His body relaxing and the quiet night atmosphere calming the whole situation. Nothing around but the quiet rhythmic sound of breathing in and out in unison with the repeating chirping of crickets. Feet turning slightly in the sand, ordinarily the desert sun baked it but under the moons forgiving shine it was cool and refreshing. He let this continue a moment or two, but it was interrupted as the cricket sound was slowly being blotted out by a new one. More of a pounding type noise and the sound of dirt being thrown up It was faint at first but grew louder and louder. He came to a realization, it was the sound of something relatively large or at least large in number approaching. He opened his eyes and snapped his head back to look behind him.
Nothing. Just the desert and night sky. The sound had ceased, gone away just as quickly as he had reacted to it. Had he imagined that, paranoid of being followed? Celadon looked about the sandy banks, snapping from hill to hill but there was no sign of anything. He turned away and decided it wasn’t worth the risk of staying here any longer and he began a light jog, powerful legs moving through the sand with ease.
He had taken four steps and prepared a fifth before in a blink of an eye an object passed above him and below his snout. He had no time to give it a reaction as his breath was cut short by the sudden feeling of a perfect loop circle around his neck and draw tight around it. His head was yanked backward, his body halted as he tried to take a step with his right leg. He was jerked backwards, causing’ him to twist around, he stumbled about a moment as he regained his foot. He planted firmly and looked down at his long neck to this best of his abilities to find a tight lasso around it.

Thanks, I am very happy how this came together. Raptor Roping series was one of my favorites too, so I should enjoy working on it again. The angle was very unique for me, since nobody really draws dinosaurs from that position in a pose like that. So that was also pretty interesting too. I like it a lot, think it's very dynamic and out of the box.
Thank you! Yeah I think so too. A lot of it is just trying new stuff all the time, new techniques, ideas, etc. I'm never one to shy away from trying something new and I think it has paid off pretty well, comparing this to the old versions, I think it shows massive improvement. The pose was an interesting challenge for me, I don't usually depict the from that angle, so it was interesting to try out.
