The age old defense against plague is to shut the doors, confine the infected, and prevent the spread of the disease. By preventing the spread you can snuff it out early and spare the healthy. When the pandemic spread, society erected checkpoints, walls and contained the infected. However they could not stop them all. Some of the infected found chinks in the walls and slipped though. Now the unlucky find themselves exposed, and the pandemic starts to flare again.

I've been in a few WW2 era and later cold war bomb shelters. The doors are smaller so they can take more strain, and it is easier to dig a smaller passage. This room is bigger, but is filled with lots of dirt. The two victims thought they would be safe in a forgotten bunker, only to run afoul of the more nimble rats. Soon there will be two more lurking about and gathering courage to head into newer and cleaner spaces.
thanks for that info: I was going to say the same thing: it looks sort of like the image of the man was cropped then placed in the background. Knowing its just an eye trick due to the arcitecture helps resolve that odd feeling somewhat.
The rest of the setup is ideal, and the transformees are excellent: i'd say your about kurt's Talent level a year or two ago: when his anatomy was pretty much ideal, but the shading was still somewhat cartoony looking, though not so much as to throw off the realism of the character or total image. Your certainly better at this point than I expect to be able to become.

Thanks for the compliments. Finding good background stock is always tough, and I really wanted one with good graffiti and darkness. I could have enlarged the door, but having the second rat peaking out seemed so much better, so I left it at the same scale. You can kind of see the other door on the left is equally small. Anyways it seems the "Can I make rats" experiment is a qualified success. So there will be more to come.
Any animal is possible. So far the Pandemic has stayed with common domesticated mammals since those have the most contact with humans. While much is still unknown, FEMA believes that the Pandemic started on a farm or other area with large amounts of human and domesticated animal interaction and rapidly spread into a nearby city.

Great film, same premise. (The monstrosities are rat people) Great photomorphs though!

I have heard of this one, but I was inspired by the "13th spell" in the new Warhammer Scaven book. Scaven are rat men, who can summon a horned rat demon that can cast a spell that mutates my poor infantry into ratmen! Games Workshop always gives the best toys to the forces of evil.
Oh Geeziz Krispies, this is one of the most incredible photomorph/picmanips I've ever seen. How could I have overlooked this picture for three years?! Apart from the excellent morphing what totally makes this picture is the setting of course; this is exactly the kind of the place something exactly like this would happen to someone - big time congrats to you, sir!
