Some of my friends who are just starting to get into drawing have been using a program called Krita, since it's nice and free, and so I decided to try it out! (I normally use Photoshop)
This drawing was made entirely using Krita, and I have to say, for being free, it's surprisingly good!! Ever since I learned Photoshop, I find myself having a hard time using other art programs, and Krita is the first art program I've tried after Photoshop that did not make me want to puke. I have very few complaints, with the main thing being a lack of performance compared to Photoshop. You would think a program like Photoshop with a bajillion features I never use or look at would be slow and bloated, but in reality, it performs extraordinarily well. Krita had some noticeable lag, particularly when first starting a stroke, and when shading. On the plus side, Krita has features such as mirror axis, which Photoshop still lacks, for some baffling reason.
In the end, I give Krita a thumbs up, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap drawing program!
About the drawing, I like a well dressed big guy, and always wanted to draw Herb in a suit. Unfortunately, drawing someone well dressed requires having a sense of style, which I don't really have! Fortunately, Herb probably doesn't have a good sense of fashion either, so I figured whatever I made would probably work for him! >:D
