Practicing your new hypnotic abilities in the mirror before trying them out for real is generally a good idea. In theory. In practice, not so much.
Don't worry, Iris will be fine. She can't focus on changing color while she's entranced, so pretty soon she'll revert back to a neutral color scheme. And a couple minutes later she'll snap right out of it, embarrassed but unharmed.
