The Season of Two Fleets - Chapter 70
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
How about that? Two chapters in less than three weeks! I am trying to get back in the swing of things. This has taken WAY too long, but at last we're getting to the meat of things.
As always: This is a major storyline from my fanfic based on Heretic by
Rukis.
All characters and art belong to her except where specified. The only characters in this one that aren't mine are: Luther, Cuthbert and Grayson
OK, first things first: I think we can all be glad we were spared the explosion that would have followed if Ambassador Davison had been around when the Eminence was trying to determine whether or not Luther had caused the attack by trying to prepare for it. Even in his weakened state, I'm sure he would have wrecked the Shepherd!
Now, I'll admit the first encounters with the Hooyan have been more puzzling than threatening, but that can change like lightning! The big question is will it, or is there anything Luther can do to stop it from spiraling out of control. (of course, that seems to be where he operates at his best.) ;)
Enjoy!
P.S.
I was reading io9.com a couple of weeks ago and came upon an article on a forgotten Halloween classic book: "A Night in the Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny. I found a copy and have read it twice since then... and want to read it again. Its use of language and the very proper way people speak in it appeals to me a great deal.
It's set in a small village outside of London (presumably) in the late 1800's. There a strange group of people have gathered to play a very unusual (and important) game. And the Players are all rather interesting. The main character who narrates the book is Snuff who is a watchdog who is partnered with a gentleman named Jack. All the players have animal companions who help them prepare for the game, but the animals can only speak to them between Midnight and 1:00am. Very quickly, you'll figure out who Jack is supposed to be, from his curse, to his knife, to his nighttime missions to whitechapel... The other players are similarly recognizable. It's all just a really fun read full of twists and delightful characters!

I've been reading your stories for a long time now and I figured it was finally time to speak up. Thank you for this epic fanfiction series! Ever since I first read Heretic years ago I'd wanted more material dealing with Luther's family. Seeing you flesh out Delilah, Brook, Klaus and your Will character is a treat every time I see them. And I love the way you write Luther and crew's adventures at sea. It's been most everything I've wanted in a Red Lantern fanfiction. :)
Looks like Luther has some grand conspiracy to worry about now. Can't he ever have a normal, non-dangerous sailing season? We all know the answer to that question lol.
