HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY COW IT'S DONE
IT'S FINALLY FUCKING DONE
AND I'M ACTUALLY PROUD OF IT
This whole project has been a journey. I feel like I'm still underestimating how much time it takes to do this kind of stuff, though. I always kept making promises as to when things would get done, but ended up not getting them done in time. Just look at my last journal. Granted, that was because Destiny 2 came out for free and I literally just dropped everything to play that, but that's besides the point. What took this so long, and really what takes all of my digital stuff so long to do, is the fact that I only have a little bit of time every day to work on stuff like this. And some days I just am not motivated in the slightest to even pick up the pen. I could sometimes go days without even opening Sai just because of things like stress and exhaustionand anime, so it feels like it takes forever to do.
But holy smokes was it ever worth it. I love how this turned out. I love every bit of it. How I look, how the Fox Boi looks, everything about it I like. That probably won't last, and I'll probably be pointing out it's flaws by tomorrow, but for now, I think it's as perfect as I'm able to get it. The style it's drawn in helps because it can hide small imperfections. If you looked at the backgrounds by themselves, for instance, they look like utter garbage. But since they're backgrounds and not the focus, they can get away with being a bit vague and sloppy. Same with the linework. It's pencil-esque, which hides a lot of imperfections unlike smooth, vector like lines where every imperfection sticks out like a sore thumb and you have to spend an hour doing one part of an outfit or whatever.
This is the second comic I've ever attempted, and the first ever finished. I've learned from the last one that you have to plan out the thing beforehand, or you're going to get stuck on something and not be able to get over that hurdle. So, before I even started, I made a quick concept sketch to get things like placement and text areas right before moving on to rough sketches, and finally the actual linework. The initial concept sketch and rough draft can be found >here< if you're interested. This will be how my future big-project comics are going to be done until I'm good enough at this sort of thing to skip the first concept sketch.
You can find this in higher quality with an extra bonus bit on >Reddit<, so go give that a look if you want.
Wow that's a lot of words. I'm going to stop now. Catch you guys later.
