Hell yes less then a week left for these games! I'm super excited to visit Kanto again after all these years. And seeing it in 3d with pokemon in the overworld and following you?!
In my journal I already talked about how I enjoy a lot of what they are doing~ It seems the catching mechanic wont continue into the other main series games, but I do hope they keep the overworld pokemon along with the following pokemon.
I'm also excited to no longer have to mold my teams for HMs like Fly. I CAN DO WHAT I WANT BEING FREE OF HMs!!!!!
Let me say I'm also glad TMs aren't one use...and the experience share takes away the fucking tedious switch out grinding process that was one of the most irritating things in the older games. (No, it didn't make them more challenging. It was more fucking annoying)
So I'm taking this game as a chance to use gen1 pokemon I haven't used before. If you look back at my other gen1 team card I posted 2 years ago only two pokemon on still here!
I'd love to hear what ya'll's teams are!!!
My team:
Pikachu - starter, of course. I love that I'll actually be able to use just a Pikachu without feeling the need to evolve it! More so since the partner Pikachu will have slightly boosted stats~ I'm also excited for the unique moves!!
Clefable - has recently become a pokemon I love! Their new fairy typing makes them much more worth raising and with a game only focused around Kanto? They will be a fun pokemon to run!!! I also haven't used them in Kanto before, obviously.
Slowbro - I've NEVER used any of the slowpoke line. My first Kanto playthrough I used Lapras and since then I always chose other water pokemon to work with. Now I thought it would be fun to run a slowbro and enjoy the water/physic typing~
Rhydon - Suprisingly I've never used Rhydon. With the first gen I always liked Nidoking and Nidoqueen better and when gen4 came I hated Rhyperior's design. Now I'm going to try this boy out!
Scyther - My favorite bug pokemon and boi I can't wait to bring him back.
Arcanine - This one is self indulgent. YOU CAN RIDE ON THEM LIKE HECK YES!? Also because I had played leafgreen Kanto had me with Ninetails~
