Gabriel and Rosamond
Technically this is fan art although I'm the one who visualized these characters as anthros. Those of you who read Little Tales might recognize the characters. This is Gabriel Syme and Rosamond from The Man Who Was Thursday. They actually spend very little time together in the story, but it's implied in the story that they got together in the end and that Gabriel loved her from the moment he saw her. During some parts of the story she's a sort of muse and a well of strength for Gabriel.
Rosamond is the sister of Lucien Gregory, an anarchist poet who is a rival to Gabriel, almost his polar opposite as Gabriel is a poet of order. I chose to make Lucien a fox and Gabriel an arctic fox to sort of represent those opposites. Gabriel is all cool colors and Lucien is warm to represent their personalities.
I'm just doing these photoshop sketches for practice and to try and get some art out. Before I started the webcomic I didn't draw all that much. Now with the comic I've been drawing a lot more, and now I want to draw more than comics and do more art in general. So I'm starting by banging these out. Hand coloring takes me awhile but these are fairly quick even though I still have to scan and tweak my inks. Fun though, and I hope you enjoy as well.

This is one of the nicest pieces I've seen you do, The thing that concerns me with this and many colored lineart pieces, is that the color shading ends abruptly without actually blending into the linework. It's based upon personal preference. I dream in color and think in black and white.
Ah yes, he's an arctic fox and Lucien was a red fox like Rosamond. I'm planning on doing the last part of the story in full color as it will fit better, although I'm a little worried about getting the book reproduced with just a few pages at the end in color and if there's a printer that can actually do that kind of thing.
