The queen of Oakfell has been in charge of the village’s reproduction for about 18 years, and at the start of the tale is working on her 15th litter. As a gnome in the afternoon of her life, she has a full ruff and mustache– the protagonists are closer in age to the young adult I drew. She wears oats in her hat as a symbol of fertility.

Gnomes have an average lifespan of 45, 55 if they get lucky. They're born in litters of four and reach adult size at about 4 years old, but don't hit puberty till about 8.
