Doodle with a bit of shading for tonight. DQH is so much better than I expected after playing Hyrule Warriors. Hyrule Warriors is fine, don't get me wrong, and I love Linkle so much, but it just kind of...existed. DQH has way more heart to it, has the most cohesive story I've ever seen in a multi-universe mash-up type game, and the voice acting is...wow, so very good. I'm not usually one to care much about voice acting in a game, and usually it's kind of an unpleasant addition in my opinion, but this cast is good. And I was pleasantly surprised to find out that most characters who have an accent, have that accent legitimately. DQ as a series is super heavy on accents and I'm not 100% sure why, but it made me very happy. The budget was totally there for that. xD Finding the right person for each part.
Anyway, this game also gave me a new appreciation for Yangus, the big softee. Healix is the CUTEST LITTLE THING (and his voice actor is a legit tiny little child who I think is legitimately British so...absolutely adorable little voice), and Yangus absolutely would die for him. Yangus is definitely among my favorite characters in this game, although I really like everyone (ESPECIALLY BIANCA, MY LOVE!)
Enjoy!

I'm sure it's a TOTALLY different experience from builders (if you've played Dynasty Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, or Fire Emblem Warriors - it's that!), but the overall DQ "vibes" are so strong, a Dragon Quest fan would totally love it regardless of how they feel about Warriors! (unless, of course, they can't stand Warriors, in which case maybe that's not true) xD
It's also not TOO challenging, so even if you're not big on action games, it shouldn't be too hard to get through the main storyline, plus, mercifully, even if you fail a level, you get to keep all the EXP and Gold you got, so even when you fail, you're still improving! :D
The main story is a bit cliche of course (it's nothing you haven't seen before, Lord of Darkness and all that, yadda yadda), but it's so cute and wholesome, and really makes you appreciate the characters!! :D
I still need to give Builders a shot, myself!

Oh no, I was saying it was gonna be like builders, but like.
I usually find minecraft type things boring -> builders made it interesting for me
so I was thinking
I usually find dynasty warriors games to be kinda, eehhhh -> maybe DQ warriors will make it interesting to me.
Also woo, exp for failing still \o/

Ahhh! I think that happened for me here, because I liked Hyrule Warriors, but it was only sort of a "slightly above neutral" kind of like? But I LOVED DQ Heroes. So I think it's a lot like your experience with Builders!
Oh the EXP/Gold kept even when you fail is...god, the most merciful thing! Nothing upsets me more than losing a huge chunk of time in a game by trying something (a level, boss, challenge, etc), knowing I'm getting EXP along the way, and then dying and losing it all. I'm SO HAPPY these games let you keep that EXP (I think Hyrule Warriors did that, too?) because it means when you try again, you'll be better off than you were the first time you tried, and so on and so on!!
