I was messing around with an old character I was revamping and ended up making a cute Polar Bear as well since I got to see one recently at the zoo.



Kofuku (or Ko) is an ancient Fox Spirit that is unlike others you may come across. Their full name Kofuku means Happiness and Ko means Fortune, which tells into the sort of gifts they bring. Ko has an affinity to those in poor districts and brings gifts of food and shelter to those who are in need and have earned their blessing. Tales of Ko speak mainly of mischief, messing with those of higher power but the words of what they truly does has been twisted. At times, they bring misfortune to those of corrupt powers and/or nature to tame the evil that dwells with it. Ko has two forms, the one shown above and their feral form (which is the only form they will present to normal "beings").

Aspen is a Zombie Polar Bear that had been frozen for over 100 years and miraculously was thawed due to rising temperatures. Their right eye had died and nearly gone blind due to the ice freezing to it. Because of the ice freezing over Aspen, their fleshy insides have been frozen over and occasionally starts to thaw due to getting too hot. The blood had left the Polar Bear's body in an unknown way, leaving only ice and water to fill their insides. Aspen cannot get too hot otherwise they will get "too hot" and their insides will melt, causing Aspen to "melt" (AKA their frozen limbs will melt and they will be unable to move, and if it's hot enough their fur will begin to melt as well). They are often seen wandering the frozen tundra to find the coldest spots to lie down and rest, often eating the snow to help cool off the most.

Ko found Aspen in a desolate, ice village one winter completely covered in snow. At the time, Ko as worried for Aspen's safety and uncovered them only to see why they were covered. From then, they traveled together and talked of changing times in the Earth as well as it's inhabitants. Aspen can be stuck in their old ways at times but enthusiastic Ko always helps to educate and help Aspen along the way. Ko tends to take care of Aspen when they forget to regulate their cold body and can often be seen dragging Aspen in the snow and burying them. Like Fire and Ice, they are drawn to each other because of experience and the time change they have both seen. Neither of them has ever thought of each other as anything but best friends, but their bond and relationship is stronger than anything.
