This week, I was able to invest time in making a creature design (or two!) that I'm satisfied with. The prompt was "symbiosis" - I envisioned a fish that latches onto a larger, nomadic creature to move between bodies of water. The fish was inspired by species such as arowana and coelacanth. The larger creature was inspired by bovids, especially gemsbok, and birds such as the moorhen and the American coot. Both also took some visual elements from bioluminescent fungi!
Rendering in colored pencil can be one of my favorite things to do, but it's also difficult, especially when things get as small as the fish on the larger creature's back. So overall I'm happy I was able to invest time in this project this week, but there are still things I could change if I were to do it again!

I wasn't thinking the other creature got any particular benefit! The prompt was "symbiosis", but technically we were also allowed to use commensalism (where one of the species is neither helped nor harmed), and that's what I went with in this case.
And I'll have to look up what you referred to, it sounds interesting!
