PROLOGUE
JUDY
HQ? Twenty-eight out of twenty-nine accounted for. No sign yet of Subject Zero.
Judy's ears perk at a SQUEAK followed by POUNDING. The officers all look in the same direction. CAMERA SHIFT to an albino otter peering out at them. She SQUEAKS and POUNDS on the divider again. Judy and Nick approach and the otter starts digging at the floor.
NICK
Something wrong? Timmy fall down the well?
The otter digs at the floor and looks up at them. After a pause, she digs at the floor and looks up again.
JUDY
Were you listening? (pause) Is Zero. . . Downstairs?
The otter lifts up her forepaws, POUNDS them on the ground and SQUEAKS with a smile.
NICK
It's going to be the next morning by the time we get them all back to Zootopia. And by then, the media will have already gone to town with-
WOLFORD (O.S.)
(shouting) Look out -- she's loose!
Judy turns around and is tackled by a now muzzled albino otter.
JUDY
Ah- (chuckles) Oh. Hey, you.
The otter SQUEAKS, smiles and hugs Judy's waist.
JUDY
Aww. (pets the otter) I know, I- (the otter nuzzles her face) I love you too, but I can't keep you. (kneels and looks the otter in the eye) It's okay, go back with Wolford. I'll be waiting for you.
The otter looks at her with sad eyes, then turns around and scampers back to an approaching Wolford.
WOLFORD
Sorry. (picks her up) She is super slippery.
Wolford rubs the otter under her chin to distract her as he fastens a leash to the back of her muzzle, the other end of which is tied to his wrist. He nods to Judy and turns back to an ambulance.
ACT III
JUDY
Can we interrupt?
The Academy students all turn their heads towards Judy and fall silent.
JUDY
Good afternoon everyone. (nods) It's good to see you all.
NICK
(looks off to the side) Incoming!
Judy is tackled and hugged from off screen by the albino otter, now standing upright and in civilian clothing.
JUDY
(smiles) Hey! You made it. (hugs the otter back) Good to see you again.
The otter smiles up at Judy and SQUEAKS. Judy frowns.
JUDY
Aww. . . (pets the otter's head) Still can't talk, huh?
The otter frowns and shakes her head.
The albino otter (who does have a name, but which is not revealed in the script thus far) is © myself.
