Song of Prayer - Hymn of the Fayth (Summon the Wolfbear)
I would like some critique on this one, actually. Pweeze? :O3
One practice. One take. Unedited save for a couple sound FX. Recorded with my laptop's built in microphone (expected much worse recording than I got from it. Good job, laptop! You get hugs!)
BillyWuff cleaned up extraneous noise and added reverb and echo for me. Thankee much buddy! Credit must be given all to you for making this sound like it could actually be in the game rather than just a raw vocal!
First off, I love this game. I played it until I can play it no more. Couple hundred hours worth of getting EVERYTHING. This song is probably my second or third favorite in the game. Anyway, I saw that the marvelous
BillyWuff had made a submission of his own version of the song and turned it into a meme. I knew instantly that I I had to try it. So, here I am. Hymn of the Fayth for the win.
I am really really pleased with how this turned out. Although I had to shorten a couple of notes from lack of breath support (never try to sing sitting down or without a good warmup) and some of my timing was off, I thought I did good with the dynamics and the overall timbre. I was shooting for that wide open voice with lots of vibrato like the Fayth used, and I think I nailed it, although in a key between any of the males in the game (which may not be a valid key at all?). Ixion was too low, and Ifrit was too high, so I went inbetween where it was comfy. As far as pronunciation/enunciation goes, I think I sound more like the one in the MP3 labeled "Bodyguard." Or maybe "Yunalesca?" The tags were messed up on mine. Try Blue Laguna if you are interested in hearing it. Either way, I'm not sure what Fayth he is. Yojimbo? Or maybe Yunalesca's dead Fayth lover? Hrm. Feel free to enlighten me.
Anyway, I think this went great all things considered! What do YOU think??? Let me know!

^^ I think you did an amazing job. I love the tone of your voice, it sounds really nice. Your vibrato is amazing too.
I really can't think of any critique -- you've got a really amazing voice, with or without the editing I did to it. I wish I had a singing voice like that. =)
You should be proud buddy. ^^! *Hugs super tight*

You're too hard on yourself! You have a good sense of pitch and the quality of your voice is good, and you know something of the finer points of technique. You just need to be bolder about letting that sound come out fully! With that, you'd have a sweet ringing tenor voice that puts whatever mine is to shame.
Thanks for being an inspiration, refiner, and all around good guy wuff. *Big bearhugs*

Thanks! I didn't even notice it was in a different key until I was done, but that's where it felt best in my range. XO3 Dunno how it's all that resonant, though. I just recorded it in my bedroom. Not exactly the greatest acoustics...
Aww, I bet you can sing better than you think you can. It's mostly about having the confidence to let your voice go big that makes a good sound. Aside from tune-carrying ability, that is. :O3

XO3 I more or less was in the background in choir, although in high school I was chosen for the more distinguished jazz and chamber choir.
And I love gregorian chant. I'd actually like to do a remake of the Temple of Time music from The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time
