Well, to each their own really. I prefer acrylic paint myself, and try as they might no one yet has managed to do on a computer what I can do on a sheet of paper and an acrylic brush. Not to say they won't soon, but for now I'm content knowing my work isn't happily digitalized yet XD
But yeah, your style definitely makes you stand out, you should be proud of it.
