it has...been my experience that people hunt wolves chiefly out of blind fear...hate what you fear, kill what you hate..
Humanity has, for time immemorial been haunted by the shadow of the black wolf who scratches at the door in the night, and called him the devil's advocate.

mm, as many people are fighting for conservation, theres alot of people fighting for delisting too...*trys to keep current* i cant imagine why...
i do have to argue about fear...it may often be unreasonable...but fear is also the thing that keeps you from jumping into the interstate during the middle of rush hour traffic..fear of wolves was once a legitimate thing... i mean, i really do hate to say that, but, wolves ARE predators..and people...are..well...food...you can tell by my words what i think of their treatment, but human beings are still prey animals and as such live in terror of being hunted...
that said, i do still think being afraid of wolves is somewhat stupid, they are alot more likely to be friendly then say, lions..tigers..cheetahs...etc etc etc...

And a lot more likely to be friendly than another human.
There are two kinds of fear though: fear out of ignorance, and fear out of knowledge. The latter is legitimately useful. You understand that something can hurt you, and as such you avoid it or take measures to prevent harm when forced to face it.
Fear out of ignorance comes from not knowing something, and is a false assumption that the unfamiliar is in some way bad or dangerous. While it may have some survival benefits for lesser creatures, as humans we should be past that point.
