For now, here's a bit of flavor text from the passage:
“ For only a brief moment, the creature looked as if it were alive; body heaving in the light, eyes open, the color of amber and mahogany. Tears streamed down the creatures face, recovering from a sob, but at the shock of discovery by a human, the creature froze and again became completely motionless. Its eyes glossed over grey and became like stone. "
