So I had just got a new place to live and was giving it a move-in cleaning. While walking back and forth between the outside windows, I noticed this little guy. He was "shade-bathing" on the side of the building. I've always liked lizards and love trying to catch the quick devils. Obviously I managed to catch this one.
The only problem was that, once I caught him and he realized I wasn't going to kill him, he decided that he didn't want leave. (It probably had something to do with the fact that the air temperature was in the 60s in the shade, so my body was much warmer. Or it could have been because he was too exhausted to keep struggling.)
Eventually, I gave up waiting for him to make a dart for freedom and carried him inside where he could warm up and I could continue cleaning (one-handed). A few minutes later he began inching his way along my arm. He ended up losing his grip and falling to the floor, so I had to take him back outside. (I'm not sure that a lizard running loose in my house would be a good thing.)
I took him back to where I first found him and managed to coax him off my hand and back onto the building. I went back to check on him a couple hours later and he was gone. I shall optimistically choose to believe that he warmed up and went his merry way and wasn't eaten by a bird.
