It's that time of the year, where putting on a few extra holiday pounds is an inevitability, and some like Faisan embrace it more than others!
Just going out to buy groceries and pick up ingredients presents the pheasant with opportunities to indulge his sweet tooth; a friendly parrot giving out free samples of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies is all that's needed to coax the pheasant into buying some of their pre-made cookie dough so he can have a little extra something sweet to munch on in the evening, along with his egg nog.
Then, back in the kitchen, it's time to get baking all manner of decadent fall cheesecakes, from pumpkin praline to sweet caramel apple-topped cheesecakes. Getting the batter just the right custardy consistency is a cool, rich, gooey treat in and of itself, and it's hard not to want to give the spoon a few good licks and samples... perhaps he'll just reserve some of that cheesecake batter for dunking those chocolate chip cookies into, judging by how round that belly of his is getting.
And finally, comes the most rewarding part of all that hard work; when the comfort and relaxation of the holiday is upon us, and Faisan gets to settle into his favorite recliner, kick up his feet, and just luxuriate in the fruits of his labor! After all, any perfectionist baker bird is going to be sure he personally samples every single variety of cake he's made thus far, and few feelings are quite as satisfying as being so completely in love with your own creations.
It looks like another successful Thanksgiving for Faisan, and he hopes all of his friends have a lovely and fulfilling holiday season as well!
