Still working hard on getting Early Access up and running, but that has been a very difficult hill to climb.
As for this page, I'm still improving on the general appearance of Istrala muzzles. I'm definitely happy with the action shot on panel 4 in particular. =)

I dunno why, but that calm and relaxed way that female Istrala talks to him. This way, at least to me, makes her even less likeable in my eyes. It is so... how shall I put it, patronizing? Like 'Oh, you stupid youngling, you still have not realized your evil potential, here let me show you the way' . Something like that. ^^'
Man, you truly do know how to keep things in suspense, making people just more and more eager for more with every new page.

Huh. Intriguing. So this girl wants to help explain a few things to him about himself. Yet at the same time, so many of the istrala seem to want to do harm to humanity and feed the soul eater. I can't help but wonder why. Also, I'm going to take a stab at this and guess that the reason the dagger did so much damage is because the soul eater is a demonic entity and thus vulnerable to iron and its derivatives. Either that or it's never experienced physical attacks before and thus was unprepared to face/endure it. I still think it was the former theory. Also, no pun was intended when I wrote this comment. I apologize if it induced any cringing, groans, etc.
It doesn't look much like fear of using it to me, more confusion over it happening at all. Maybe a bit of fear of what it will do if it gathers too much.
From what I can see he's basically fighting against himself under the assumption that it is the other creature making the dark energy.
Which is different enough from the two options she is offering to matter, as it is less him knowingly working against himself and more him being confused by new experiences mixed with an unknown monster for his foe. So her two rather negative ideas of why he is fighting it are somewhat misleading, as she is implicitly making the assumption that he knows it is his dark energy that he is fighting, when it really does seem that he thinks it is the creature's.
I'm actually kinda expecting him to adapt quickly when she clarifies the situation, and do so before she realizes this discrepancy in her interpretation of his thought process.
