"We are away my love. . Time to wake," Cooed Fafnir, nuzzling against the females head. She did not stir. "Love?"

Fafnir leaned away, staring at the form in his arms. He had assumed she'd simply given up her struggle when he'd stolen her away. What he did not hear was the snap as his strong arms clung to her in flight, and piecing it together with her sudden stillness.

"Love?" Fafnir touched her face, trying to get her to look at him. To no avail. Her eyes showed no light, no life.

He began to panic, breaths coming in shallow pants. He shook her. "Wake my love!"

Nothing. She simply hung limp in his arms. In his anger and sheer panic, he slammed her to the ground, demanding: "Wake!!!"

But she was gone.
