A friend of mine did a riggable render of my main character, Kathy, as practice--she was his first from-scratch render. He did a pretty good job on her, but then he upgraded to a new software fiber program, and now I hate the way her hair looks.
I had been hoping to be able to get some CGI renders that I could have made up into 3D printed figurines. My friend did an enormous amount of work giving her fur textures and fiber hairs--which don't work for 3D printed figurines.
I also was hoping I could import the program to use her as a posing model, but even though I got a new computer with the power to handle it, he had some arcane reasons why the program wouldn't work on my system.
*shrugs.*
I can't complain--she was free!
Here she is on my Deviant Art page.

Hair particles can be a pain, and they're not 3D printable. I usually don't do realistic hair because it takes too much time and often times the final result isn't as good as if I did it by painting the textures (I mean if someone wants a more cartoon look, but I've seen some people pull it off pretty well!) and doing the hair as a 3d model instead of hair particles.
