These trash drawings have gotten really colorful since I started doing this series back in June, haven't they? Seems I only started with just a random black or blue pen, before I decided to start holding on to whatever pens I could find, and now I have a good deal of colors available to use. Now if I could just get lucky enough to find a brown ink pen...

I was pretty burnt out after having completed my last trash drawing and while I really would've liked to draw that character more, I was really struggling with ideas and nothing was working out. Rather than carry forward and keep at it, I instead decided to give my characters a rest and turn my creative focus elsewhere, drawing whatever came to mind and figuring out what else would be going on as I went along.

The end result was a trio of Yoshi playing a song of sorts surrounded by lots of colorful musical notes and an equally colorful background, because why not? I never drew musical instruments or people playing them, so this made for a good practice session even though I had no reference material to work with. Green's on the mic, Light Blue's got guitar, and Pink's all over the trumpet! Not sure what song they're playing, but it certainly looks like they're having a good time, yes? I guess this drawing is a way of showing off all of the pen colors I've accumulated over the months; while my last trash drawing with Sharon was a really colorful pic, this one I think shows off every single color I have at my disposal in some way (or almost every single color, anyway). Perhaps if I keep at this series, I'll eventually come across more?

The drawing was admittedly a bit rushed, as I wanted to get this done before Thanksgiving. Poses are a little strange, anatomy's janky in places and I'm pretty sure none of them are holding their respective instruments correctly... I kind of made myself continue this drawing, not only so I'd have something to show in time for Thanksgiving, but also because I spent so much time fretting over flaws and re-drawing my previous sketch that I didn't want to go through that hell a second time so soon. I mean, the drawing's still presentable enough for a sketch, right? If nothing else, it's a neat enough idea.

Part of my "Trash Drawing" series, in which I take advantage of the quieter moments of my day job to make rough sketches using whatever supplies I can find on the job (read: random pens and cardboard scraps). Due to the often hastily-drawn nature of these sketches and the materials used to produce them (the canvas is literally a piece of garbage), I have thus taken to calling these "Trash Drawings." That series name may change eventually, however, as the drawings in question have gradually grown more colorful and elaborate.
