I watched "Bohemian Rhapsody" in cinema two times and I love this movie a lot! It's very beautiful and made with lots of love to the band, I'll sure go to see it few more times!
Queen were my first rock band, I'm a mid 90's kid, so Dad had them on tape and this tape was my fav one since I was 4 y.o. (I even didn't knew it was a Queen back then, because box of tape was lost and replaced by the one without label), who knows - would I ever be a metalhead girl without childhood like that?
So I was happy to see a movie about a Queen, and I honestly don't understand people who claiming that movie is bad just because "in life it was not like that!". Hey, it's a feature film, not a documentary. If someone would like to see how exactly it was in the real life, there's lots of cool documentaries about Queen and Freddie. I like what they did for the movie, because as person who learning how to write scripts (for my comics) I know that biographical films are hard to do, there's not a lot of space for dramaturgy, and they often boring and often fall in the box office.
Nice to see someone managed to make rock film looking not like some "Rock of Ages".
And here's Jack from "Hair Metal Loser" singing part of song which makes me cry every time. This one always was among my fav songs.

Same. Queen was huge when I was a kid. My mom and I shared the same musical taste so we would borrow each others albums and cassettes and Queen was a shared favorite band. I remember the day we heard Freddie Mercury died she was driving me to my aunts and she pulled the car over, looked at me and we both hugged each other as we began to cry our eyes out. The day of the Queen tribute show we were cheering along and when Annie Lennox and David Bowie performed Under Pressure we were both crying our eyes out.
Hell-I'm crying just writing about it. I hope to be able to see the movie soon. I don't get to go to the movies much (the last one I saw was Rogue One) so i have to wait till I can stream it somewhere. I love this pic and think it very much evokes the spirit of the song.

Some people didn't liked movie because it's kinda fairy-tale format, but honestly I like it and I don't see anything wrong in that. Tell me what do you think after you'll watch it!
I don't remember the day Freddie died, I remember more the day when Bowie died; me and my friend had a night chat and both cried, too. What a sad thing that some people can't live forever!

I get why Brian wanted something more spirited. There's been tons of articles, books and TV shows that have focused on Freddie and his being gay as well as his diagnoses. I think as sad as it is his death is what brought the AIDS crises into sharp relief. Up until his death Rock Hudson's had been one of the only celebrity deaths from AIDS that had gotten widespread attention and because of his straight guy image there was a lot of disbelief surrounding it. MTV had made Freddie Mercury a household name. At least with young people. Ironically enough he'd become a straight icon due to the masculine image he projected in Queens videos and on stage. He caused young people to stop and really look at what was going on. Too late for some, sadly but he's helped raise millions for AIDS research since then and really that to me is Freddie's greatest legacy. He's helped save a lot of lives through his music and because of who he was. I think his (and Bowie's) legend status is well earned.
