So here's the idea:
There are tons of awesome musical artists here on FA who come up with great original material. But, everybody has some sort of influence or inspiration, right? So let's hear some side by side comparisons of clips from your songs, and the songs that you draw inspiration from!
Here are just a few of mine. The first clip is from one of my songs, and the second is from the song (or part of a song) that inspired me.
1.) "Back to Basics"--- "Bright Future in Sales" by Fountains of Wayne
2.) "Genetic"--- "Redial" by Jun Chiki Chikuma from Bomberman Hero
3.) "Let's Be Serious"--- "Temple" from Final Fantasy Legends III

I can understand that. But I think Dragonpurr's problem, and my own I will admit, is that we take what inspires us and twist it in ways that make it difficult to find songs that mirror the elements that are heard. For example, my inspirations include Daft Punk, Mr. Oizo, Justice, Cassius, and Air, but it is very rare for that to actually be heard in many of my songs. At least, that's what I think.
