"Why are you helping me...?" Infinite asked the wolf quietly as he shouldered the jackal.
"Because," Cross said with a beaming smirk, "even a Zero can be a hero if they try hard enough."
"That's dumb...." Infinite groaned.
"That's life for ya," Cross chuckled. "Here, let's go get patched up at headquarters." Infinite winced as the wolf started to walk, having to limp alongside.
"... Maybe I am weak," the jackal slowly uttered as he felt pain wrack his body.
Cross shook his head at this. "Nah, you're pretty strong. It takes some real strength to accept a helping hand."

I managed to snag Clip Studio Paint during the sale period and I am beyond happy with the purchase. It's even be better than Sai was when I was using that.
In regards to the image, Infinite the Jackal here is a character I took a major shine to in Sonic Forces, and I was really hoping that something would happen to make him turn against Eggman in game, though now I just hope we'll see him again in some kinda sequel to Forces.
The wolf shouldering Infinite is my own Sonic OC as he appears in Sonic Forces (With a few adjustments to make him more accurate, of course), Cross the Wolf. He started off being a Sonic Riders inspired character, and that does still affect him to this day as he can't actually run as fast as Sonic, having to rely on the Skate Type Extreme Gear he wears (Not pictured here, but I'll get around to making a proper reference for him at some point.).
