This is why Krytal is Best Vixen (from my perspective):

Star Fox 64 was practically my favorite game when I was little. I still remember thinking that the first time I saw Falco I thought he’d had a stereotypical parrot like voice whenever he’d say his first line. He proved me wrong with a cool tough guy voice.

Anyway. I played that game in a least 3 different homes that I lived in. Never got old. When time went by, I came across the movie Titan A.E. and felt a sort of similarity with it and Star Fox. I was a 10-year-old kid then so I had quite the imagination. I’d sometimes put Star Fox characters in place of the A.E. ones. It was really fun picturing such great music and sci-fi action with one of my favorite games. So, time went by and my older cousin on my dad’s side, and her boyfriend took me to a mall, possibly the Eastwood Mall. There they take me into a game store, quite possibly GameStop when it first started using that name. There, my cousin’s boyfriend pointed something out on a cardboard standee of multiples game screen shots of upcoming games. He said “Hey look they got a new Star Fox coming out.”

I saw Fox, outside his cockpit fighting with what looked like a staff. I was ecstatic about this. I kept an eye out for it ever since waiting to play it. Now, back to Titan A.E. I didn’t know about Fara Phoenix at the time so I just imagined a female fox in place of Akima. I loved the idea of Fox having a love interest and believed I hoped for something like that to happen.

When Star Fox Adventures came out I learned about Krystal. I didn't have the internet and my family didn't even have a computer so there was no way for me to find out about her. I got the game as a gift along with its instructional guide book. I saw Krystal and was blown away with excitement that there was in fact a female fox in the world of Star Fox. I played her story, enjoyed her brief adventure and hoped she and Fox would meet. When he met her for the first time, albeit in a deep sleep inside a crystal, he couldn’t help but gaze at how beautiful she was. As I progressed through the game and eventually saved her and their eyes met, I was giddy that there was a somewhat spark between them. When she came aboard their ship to thank him, Fox got incredibly flustered and nervous. That’s when I got an actual good look at her and could actually see why he was so shy. I could actually see that she was a very beautiful anthropomorphic vixen and developed my own attraction to her.

Soon after I wanted to see more of her and Fox and got excited again when “Assault” came out. I loved that she became a new member of the team and got a whole new look and role in one of my favorite game series. Tricky teasing their relationship and Fox getting flustered again and Krystal getting what’s going on and not denying or being against it felt like a tip of the hat to what I’ve been wanting to happen. So when that game ended I still wanted more. That’s when my family finally got our first computer with internet and I began to explore online stuff while replaying the games for Easter Eggs and other stuff I may have missed. I started coming across artwork and fan fictions of the character and others from the game and was even enjoying the NSFW stuff too. I became even more attracted to her than I already was and just couldn’t get enough of her artwork and fics. I came across more artwork of other characters both original and OC and slowly but surely I became more and more interested in anthro characters and I eventually found myself completely drawn in to a subculture I didn’t even know was an actual thing yet.

Krystal made me a Furry, and is one of my all time favorite fictional characters. This is why she is the Best Vixen.
