Continuing my short stint of prehistoric animals with another type of saber tooth tiger, this time a scimitar cat. Again much artistic license used with the markings. I used some help with the shape of the head, otherwise no references used.

Rather expressive face on this cat... and great job with the large teeth, I can see how easy it would be to get the muzzle and mouth wrong with an animal with such a large teeth...
"Isoäiti, miksi sinulla on noin isot hampaat?"
Okay, jokes aside... Great pic. I like the details, I like the fur, I like the tiny tufts on the tips of the ears... The picture looks great. Good work.

Thanks very much. I meant to say in the submission box, but I wanted to give the scimitar cat aspects of current felines, like the makings of lynx ear tufts. It was actually really fun to draw a cat with basically clean slate in terms of anatomy and appearance. I think the teeth were the only must. ^_^ Using that kind of teeth must have been hellishly difficult, though.
