My dad got me one of these when they where cheap. Since then the price of them has gone up drastically. They are a weird revolver in some ways like how when the hammer is cocked the cylinder will move forward closing the gap between it and the barrel. Another weird thing is the round it fires so far it’s the only caliber I know where the casing goes past the bullet and necks down at the top. It’s a fun gun to shoot but trying to fire it just by pulling the trigger is a pain cause it takes so much pressure to pull the trigger without cocking it first.

Got one myself, same year, its the only revolver you can actually suppress due to that forward motion cylinder. Favorite of the NKVD and KGB as execution pistols. Horribly inaccurate too, plus a exceptionally fragile firing pin. I keep mine as as 'book shelf back up' and the shits and giggles factor of it. Overall I wouldn't trust it as a actual handgun to carry.
I remember they were practically giving these away at $49 and almost zero ammo available. I kept one box of Soviet ammo as a just in case I decide to sell it, easier to sell with ammo. But thankfully the stuff is being remanufactured for roughly $25 a box, so I keep it. Occasionally I actually will empty a box in actual accuracy shooting at various yards. But its a strictly under 10 foot for even remotely accurate shooting. Utter POS pistol, the Hi Point of Soviet development.
