The Sun Star Compass was a design owned by the pirates called the Cutthroat Barracuda's. They were notorious for this particular compass and only honored members were given this compass or if one of the family. They are made of pure silver and sometimes gold or copper. Most the members wore the less valued copper one as it was the generic your a member of this fleet thing. More honored members had Silver and only the captain and his family, 1st mate and or wife/husband would have gold ones. There were very very very few other captains that were awarded these and those that were it was a sign of pure trust between these fleets.
The Barracuda pirates had the only molds to make this design and had a specific seal that authenticated it, a rune etched on the back of each one. In the middle is a glowing working compass that would direct its user in the way they were going like a mini beacon and were one of the most accurate ones out there. They can also act as a sort of Hearthstone in the sense that a location can be imprinted on the pendant and the compass will glow and point in the direction to go to get back to that location.
Anyone who had one of these that were NOT a member of the these pirates either killed the pirate that wore it and took it, some how managed to find one sunken at the bottom of the ocean that was lost and or got it from someone else who was auctioning it and or it was passed down or given to them by the owner. These are highly sought after by treasure hunters and even other sailors or anyone who could get their hands on them and one reason they are so hard to get is anyone who does have one is not likely to sell it or part with it.
The design was originally owned by the groups leader, captain and founder and had belonged to his family as a passed down heirloom. He decided that it would be his logo to their infamous fleet of the cutthroat Barracudas.
Paiyin had a silver one given to her when she was adopted by her new parents and never takes it off for she values it more than anything else she owns. The only reason she was never given a golden one was because she was not born of the mother naturally but was still given the silver one as her adopted orcish father was very hardcore about his beliefs and value to these compass.
However anyone who was not a Barracuda that has one of these is likely to get a very angry response from her and demands of how they have one. More likely than not she is potentially prone to try and take it from them deeming anyone who was not a part of her family and crew as unworthy of wearing such a piece *Granted it wasn't one of the allied fleets ect* This is applied times 1000 if it is gold because these were the most rare of all.
After all four fleets of the Barracuda were destroyed by Alliance all the molds were lost deep at sea and Paiyin is the only one who has the last remaining mold to make them. On rare occasions she meets someone she deems worth having one. Getting one of these compass from her is like being given a valuable heirloom and a unspeakable trust and honor. She keeps the actual mold hidden in different places , changing it every so often to make sure no one else finds it and its location will die with her unless she decides to pass it down to someone else or her own children one day.
There have been occasions where thieves and thug treasure hunters have tried to take her compass and were met with an extremely fiery response , most receiving near life threatening burns on large portions of their bodies. Needless to say trying to take this from her is a huge no no and will fight with everything shes got to protect it.
