We had a long, if possibly jokingly pretentious conversation in the mall while out getting new work clothes about how we were goths back when that meant ostracism and thrift store shopping and possible creative use of the sewing machine.

I was always scared to try the Goth look. I'm way pale, and my dad made it very obvious that he though Goths were punk-ass-bitches.
I did try a fringe look for a while, short, spikey hair, thick eyeliner and black eyeshadow. I kinda did punk vampire for a while, way back before that was cool.
