A character from my comic. This is Kilo; he's the current iteration of this entity called the Bone Eater. He finds the skulls of dead things with a strong desire to live again or finish business that they had in life, and buries them in places where the earth seems to speak to them. The skulls take their form from the earth around them, taking on a new life. Many monsters and cryptids come into being this way. (The Windie was actually born this way! It's not uncommon for creatures to come back as monsters because they harbor monstrous intent and they are in too hasty of a rush to have their skulls buried.)

When Kilo himself lays down his 1,000th skull, then he will die and the title of Bone Eater will pass on to the creature that is born from the last skull.

And they continue where he left off.

I did something weird for the color here; I actually had a very pale green layer on top set to 'Difference' and picked my colors by how they looked under that layer. So Kilo and the skull are actually orange and magenta, and the magenta parts are actually a similar seafoam green to the one that appears in the final drawing.
