(Old!) Battle Preparations, Moment of Calm
A commission done for
Colin-tox some years ago of their character Fystilago. At least I think it's their character still? (Show me the character Car-Fax amirite?)
I'm not gonna lie. Doing chitin, scaling, automaton mechanics and armor are some of my favorite things to illustrate. They tend to be very formulaic and easy to understand and map out relative to itself. Where as flesh and fur can be really way too fluid to grasp at times for my simian brain that needs patterns and such. As such, I don't do too many pictures demanding it. I mean even pictures of people with clothes on is kind of an oddity for me. I really enjoyed the privilege of this image as I believe I was given the liberty to outfit Fystilago in desert themed gear. Making some preparations after a long journey before running the dungeon in the distance.
Fystilago remains one of the most amazing characters I've ever seen. My introduction to the bearded vulture as a species, too. I couldn't believe it was real when I saw their design. It's sooo cool. Add that with Colin's tendancy to commission mixed subjects from porno to the more general-audience themed images like these, you get some really impressive character out of their species. That's my take anyway.
Here yea go. A gryphon anthro whetting their cut-and-stabby saber.
