Edit: I wasn't at all happy with the art. I rushed it, so I went back and cleaned up some stuff (traditionally) and did a new scan.

I remember the crappy clique kids in my high school being /totally/ different after school. It was jarring.

Ohh, those scars. Jua got her good back then. But now she and Lenny get along. The person improved, but the scars remain.

I think Jua's in the process of learning, right now. That's going to be a big part of the story, over all.

Jeeze, you'd think her parents could have afforded to get those wounds stitched to prevent scarring...maybe even THEY knew she was being an ass, and let them heal that way. Or maybe she was acting that way because of trouble at home.

There's that, and it's a very economically depressed area. I'll try to get into that as time goes on. But yeah, poor family combined with a bad family situation is basically it.
