Haha, this podcast was great! I LOVED the Radio Otters talking about Lance Cheval's flick! They go off each other so nicely, and it was really funny and really well done!
I also LOVE the exchange between the "Angry Baller" and Ryan Thatcher! I think Mr. Initialman is becoming a VO All-Star in these podcasts! I was really feeling his performance, as well as Jerry Husky's laid back performance. Just how I envisioned Thatcher, to be all in your shirt and then be all cool and innocent if the opponent starts yelling at him!
This podcast was very focused on straight facts and stats about the ballers, but I really like that! I thought you did a wonderful job highlighting each player and giving a solid, balanced report on each one. I particularly like how you went about describing Xau Xian-Xu. Being so strange, I was wondering how T. Matt would react to him, but I really loved the delivery for him and the other players as well!
Nice comparisons with Stoat, Lyska, Windcreek and Sanftner. That really helped differentiate two ballers with very similar styles of play.
Fantastic work as usual! Are you going to be recording anything for the draft, voice clips for the selections? Interviews? I the commissioner announcing the pick is the only thing that really needs to get recorded, and then there will be an in-depth draft analysis later on talking about how the players might fit in with the teams and their reactions to their new squads. :)
I'm still working on the avatars, but they're looking pretty sweet! Only a few more to go! Can't wait to get started on the Draft Board! ^__^

Big thanks, JT! Heh-- I really should know better by now, but every time I make one of these podcasts, when I start mastering it, I feel like I really screwed up, I should re-record everything, I don't sound any good, the effects won't work, blah blah... then I finish putting it together and I think it's the best podcast yet. Same things happened making this one!
Leon & Mack were awesome. J-Ott offered to record a 2-person part with his friend if I ever needed it, so I wrote a script for them. And it came out just great! I was really super happy with how it came out-- makes me wish I could figure out more excuses for T. Matt to lift clips from the movie review podcast down the hall.
As long as they don't touch his Doritos.
Writing for this script was a little harder than the others since they were more unusual players with games more focused on one or two features, rather than the broadly skilled players at the top of the list. Still, in a way, it made it more fun to write. I had to scrap a lot of details that I had written and recorded to get the podcast under 12 minutes, but in a way, I think that's a good thing. It really forces me to trim out everything that slows down the podcast, and I think they benefit from being tightened up.
Thanks, the Stoat/Lyska comparison worked really well. And it actually helped me out, because it helped me better define the difference between the pair instead of both just being '3 point shooters'.
I would love to record voice clips and interviews! If there's anything you need at all for what you're making, just let me know and I'd be happy to get it made. I suppose I should play the commissioner... though hopefully I can figure out a way to make him not sound too much like a basketball nerd coyote! And yes, my next podcast will absolutely take place after the draft and will analyze the results. In fact, I may report on the Howler-een game in a different podcast just so I can devote the full 12 minutes to the draft results.
The Draft Report looks AWESOME. You did a spectacular job, JT!! I'm really overwhelmed by how much work you've put into that-- it just looks amazing. Thank you so much!!!

He's a unique player, to be sure! Will be exciting to see what he can do!
If you don't think you'll be able to make it to the live draft, you should look over JT's report and send me a list of your Top 10 picks. That way, I can automatically draft for you and get you the first available guy on your list. Just put it in order of how much you want that guy.

From a review of A Horse With No Name: "Lance Cheval makes Parondor Calhoren look superb -- which is saying something since Parondor Calhoren is in no hurry to buck the trend of wrestlers who get into movies."
(Parondor Calhoren, who is employed by Dreysanius Acrutar in the WSWF, has played in some stinkers. His saving grace: he has a ball, and watchers can see it.)

On Cheval: Shaq's failures in Kazaam and Steel come to mind. Surprised his career is as long as it's been.
On Xau: Yeah, but those are his stats in the foreign league, not against arguably the best ballers in the world. It's as not-right for there to be a comparison of Quinn's stats to Americans, as the draft report mentioned.
On Windcreek: "Herm?" There goes your PG rating.
And to whom should I send my thoughts about picks in case I can't make it to the live draft?

Shaq was smart where Cheval was dumb. The Diesel kept playing ball. Maybe if My Big Pony had actually stayed in the FBA when he released his movie, he'd have something to fall back on!
That's true, though 6 BPG and 4 SPG in impressive in any professional league. Even Andrei Kirilenko has only managed 6 blocks in his best single game Euroleague performance. And Jarvis Vernado of Mississippi State is averaging 4.7 BPG, and that makes him the best in the NCAA.
Oh no!! My PG rating!!! Sorry about that. I'll call your parents to pick you up.

Thanks, Dub-C! Yeah, it was a lot of fun! This podcast recording was a lot different from the others. Started out with very few people, but it grew as it went along. I think we lost some fans to FurFright and being held on a Saturday night instead of a Sunday night... and also me forgetting to post the link to the show on my FA page.
Still, was a great time. Had some new voices show up, which was awesome. Hope you can make it to the next one, Dub-C!
