"... I'm buying something to shoot you with."
---
Janali is female, though you'd never be able to tell it; bangaa look and sound the same whichever way you turn them, and she never really acted feminine. Most people who know her earnestly think "she" is a "he." It's easier to let them think that than to correct everyone she meets.
Janali wanted to be a skypirate. So, she did what any level-headed individual would do: she stole an airship. From a sky pirate who was parked a little too close to the Estersand. With it came the accidental kidnapping of Peppi, a cowardly, mechanically inclined moogle who fashions himself as a ladies' man. For a time, Janali kept him because it was convenient to have a free-of-charge repairman and Peppi worked for her out of fear, never realizing the "evil man" he was held hostage by was actually an unfair member of the fairer sex.
Then the Imperials came. Threats were exchanged. A judge let out the order to capture the bangaa woman. Peppi was in too much shock at this revelation to actually do anything useful. The ship was shot, and down they went.
Now? Now Janali has to walk home, across the desert... trying desperately to ignore the flirtatious moogle who now insists on alternating between stupid questions and equally stupid one-liners.
She has sworn to steal another ship. With guns.
And use Peppi as target practice.
