Upon reaching there new destination later then expected the crew quickly decided, weather maxwell liked it or not they would have an engine on the ship. But the best way to have that would be to find a mechanic, It wasn't long before they found a small workshop run by Tiáowén, this inquisitive young one was eager to take up the job, but soon became distant when she found it was a boat she was to be working on. At first maxwell tried to keep as distinct from the girl as much as possible and it wasn't until lynn, the resident coolhead told her to meet their guest .
Once she was given a room Tiáowén quickly began building what they needed and in record time, much faster than most other mechanics. so the conversation went as follows
Maxwell: well you can stay if you want
Tia: ... do i have to cook
Maxwell: no
tia: do i have to fight
Maxwell: no, your job is to tinker or ... whatever and make sure we have whatever gadget and gizmo we may need
Tia: IS THIS A DREAM!

and so the mechanic was quickly recruited with baggy clothing and mess
