They may not be family by blood, and Kalyis may still be adjusting to being called a father, but that does not mean their bond is strong. As Adallon held up his new coloring book triumphantly, proclaiming to fill up the pages by the year's short end, Kalyis looked at the small, terribly wrapped gift in his own hand. Carefully, he opened it up, surprised to see the amethyst within. How in the hell did his adopted son find this? He pulled it out, surprised by the string following after it. That part was Ada's handiwork. In his lap, the golden hybrid laughed, bubbly energy infecting Kalyis.
"And where did you get this?"
"Uncle Lor helped me pick it out," Adallon answered. "I wanted to get you something really special. And since you like purple."
"I don't like purple that much," Kalyis tried to act defensive, only for Ada to laugh.
"I'm gonna draw you wearing it now. And wearing fancy clothes. With a crown and everything!"
Kalyis could only chuckle, rubbing the crown of Adallon's head.
