2009 FBA Draft - Projected First Round Picks
Excitement is building for the 2009 FBA Draft, which is only a week away! All the most probable first round draft picks have already been recognized, and each of these 24 talented young players will have a VIP pass to the FBA Green Room November 1st, where they will wait eagerly for the FBA Commission to call their name and reveal what team jersey they will be wearing next year, their first year in the Furry Basketball Association.
The full written report (written by me) can be viewed at http://www.fletcherapts.com/FBA-Rookie-Report.html If you're an FBA GM, read up on these players so you will have a good idea which player is right for your team!
Flash version (the neat, compact, shiny and convenient version) to come right after the draft (when the picks have been officially announced).
These characters are all drawn by me, but not all of them are my characters. If I miss giving credit, it's because I don't know whose character it is, so please let me know in the comment section. Thanks!

Jeff Random comes from me, by the way, inspired by the character Jeff from http://coachrandom.furtopia.org
By the way, can I take your draft report and post it on http://fba.furtopia.org?
Thanks man! I sure did pour myself into it, hehe. And I'm not done (gotta do the Flash version). But I don't mind because I love doing stuff for the FBA! It's really a blast! :)
Hehe, yeah Teddy is like "Oh, so.. do I look now? When are you gonna take... *snap* "NEXT" Awww..."
Also, did you create any of the rest of the players, or do you know who did? I know Roark belonged to somebody...

I think I created a couple other players in the draft pool, but none in the Top 24. Only Klaus Korber is mine. I was trying to spread the love, make sure I got something from everyone who contributed!
I know GlenSkunk came up with at least one of the ballers! I wonder why he hasn't piped up yet?

I haven't heard from him at all about the draft in a while. I wonder what's up with that! Being silent is certainly not something we're used to from him. ^^
Oh, and this is a strange place to ask this, but I might as well... does the Commissioner have a name, or do we still need to make one?

I hear a sign and trade for #3 projected pick Jeff Random would be a good fit for the Howlers. Question is, how might that be allowed to happen. ;)
Otherwise, Ryan Thatcher might be a wallflower in the locker room, but on the court, his defensive intensity would fit right in on a fierce Howler's squad. Or even Xau Xian-Xu! Now that would be quite a contrast to Onca's ferocity and power!

You're lucky you're further up the draft list. Being 3rd to last I get to hope no one takes my picks and deal with what's left. Hopefully I can find the right kind of player to fill my roster, and hopefully everyone else does as well. The harder the teams play the better the game's will be.
If you need shooting, you're in a good position to get not only a great shooter and able defender, but a really looker too (sure to be a fan favorite) AND a player you created! Silvia Windcreek is lined up to fall right in your lap at the 22nd pick currently. :)
Of course you do have to worry about someone picking hir up prematurely, but even then, there are still some sharp shooters to fill your needs, All of the ballers in this year's draft definitely deserve their spot, and they all have something to prove to their new squads and the entire league. ^^

Well you're 9th pick I believe, so Alan might be gone, and Silvia is way down the list. But no one is saying you can't draft hir 11 spots ahead of hir expected selection spot. ;)
A couple of really nice point guards around your pick, as well as some talented reptiles. As for high flyers with "hops", you wouldn't normally think of a snake as having hops, but Nathan Robinson is a great transition player and exceptional leaper, going and getting those alley oops and finishes the break well. But it all depends on what your team needs. ^^

I have no idea why people are having trouble with that link! It shows up just fine for me.
http://www.fletcherapts.com/FBA-Rookie-Report.html
And the list of players and team rosters can be found here.

Hopefully some of these links work so you can read about the players and see your team. That's kinda the whole point of me making the Report, so people can learn about the players and decide who they want to draft. T_T

ALso is it to late to join your fantasy league
The URL is case sensitive, it appears. Make sure you put it in EXACTLY as it is shown in the top. Also, I'll try putting a redirect on the other site, just in case FA only links the lowercase.
And sorry, it's too late to join the fantasy league. Season starts today, and the draft was last Saturday. :(

I like Ian Histon's beaded braids. ^^
That, and the fact that he wears kilts, reminds me of Roger McDowell. Heh.
Hope I got his name right. Baseball player.~
I also dig:
1) Vishnu's direct gaze.
2) The whole way you drew Carlos. Different than I imagined him, but an improvement. It's like "That's him!" :O
3) Teddy looks adorable. I'll have to draw him that way now. ^^
4) Kamal's fauxhawk.
5) Icarus's veil.
Manymany kudos, Tig.

Hehe, awesome! Thanks for the specific feedback! Definitely appreciate it! ^^
I gotta say, if it wasn't for so many different people creating characters and those characters having unique characteristics about them (like the beads, kilts, veils, etc) this list wouldn't look nearly as diverse! So I gotta give it up for everyone who helped contribute for making it so much more interesting. :)

Hmmm... hard to say, since these are all rookies who haven't proven anything in the league...
I'd say the Kobe is Desmond Macon, since scoring for him is easy and he led the FCAA in scoring, but he doesn't get that many assists and only an average amount of rebounds (or less). Although Klaus Korber is similar too, since he scores a lot but also gets a decent amount of rebounds and assists and is a very hard worker.
Lebron, in terms of being a complete player, is closest to JTigerclaw, since he gets a high number of assists and rebounds, although he's more like Chris Paul than Lebron. Or, if you mean the guy who is coming out of high school and has ridiculous hops and a lot of hype, then Alan Murphy fits that kinda well.
It's hard to compare the players to real life players, because they all have their separate traits and skills. But a lot of them I did have real players in mind when I made them, and sort of based their skill sets off of some of them. :)
