And so, encouraged by her heart and eager to prove her love for the Ocean, Sparrow took to the sky and began to cross the great expanse of water.
"I shall cross you!" She chimed as she fluttered. "I shall cross you and then you will know that I love you!"
The waves sighed to her as she kept going.
Sparrow flew and flew and flew. She flew until her wings grew tired and then she flew some more. It was cold out over the Ocean and she soon began to miss the land. There she could perch and rest before starting off again but out here there were no places to land and get her wind back. So on and on she went.
Until she couldn't go on anymore.
Before she realised it Sparrow had tumbled down out of the air and into the water. She was too tired to try and get out of the water. Her heart was tired. As her feathers grew sodden she grew colder and colder.
"Poor Sparrow." Hummed the Ocean as she drifted down. "Your heart was too weak and your wings were too small."
Sparrow felt tired. "But I tried. I tried to show you."
"I know you did, little Sparrow. Now come, let me hold you."
And so Sparrow did.
