Do you want some pointers?
If you don't then feel free to disregard the wall of text below. XD
The guy's guns seem a bit big, but that's not the a problem.
You have the basic shape, which is the hardest part. The rest is filling in the details, which is easier with some basic gun anatomy.
The gun can be divided into two main parts: the grip, which you hold on to, and the barrel, with is where the bullet comes out.
The bullet chamber is on top of the barrel. On either side of it are little grippy things to help you manually open the chamber and check to see if it's empty or not. The shape and size of these little grip-pull things varies by manufacturer, but they generally hug the bullet chamber pretty tight.
Just below and behind the bullet chamber are little buttons. One is the safety, the other is the magazine release (the magazine holds the bullets and feeds them into the bullet chamber). Usually, the safety is closer to the chamber while the magazine release is closer the the grip.
Finally, there are the sights and the hammer. The hammer is a little knob above the grip, and it generally rests in that little space between your index finger and thumb. When you're ready to fire, you reach up with your thumb and pull the hammer down. Pulling the trigger launches the hammer forward, creating a spark inside the bullet chamber and igniting the gun powder inside the bullet. As alluded to earlier, it's designed such that you can reach it and pull it down with your thumb, without compromising your grip on the...grip. :p Because of this, it's generally quite pronounced in the silhouette of the pistol.
The sights are three little dots, triangles, nubs, three little raised and readily visible points on the gun. The shape and size of the sights will vary from one manufactuerer to the other, though the positions of them are generall the same: two are between the hammer and the chamber, one on either side of the chamber. The third is on the muzzle (opposite the hammer, where the bullet actually comes out). By closing one eye and lining up the dots, you can tell more or less where your bullet is going to go.
So with all that said, I don't think a pistol designed for people would work for a plant monster creature with no fingers (you need an index finger to pull the trigger and a thumb to pull the hammer). I know you said this is fan art, so you have to generally stick to the original design, but it might be fun to design a gun for tentacle monsters. XD
I uh...I hope that helped.
