Got the other side done. Mang these take a bit to get the wire in! But heres the full view of what it'll look like at night! Gonna finalize it this eve by cementing everything in place.
Need to pick up a battery holder from Radio Shack to allow the battery pack to be stuck into the ear.

Oh! You know what else would be a cool effect (maybe)? Put an LED behind each eye lens to make the interior of the eyes glow. You could tape or cover the back side with latex so it doesnt blind the wearer but still shines out through the lens. Just a thought. Might or might not obscure the wearers vision...
The only way to do that would be to have the mask have no vision, at least through the lenses. The bright light behind the lens would only allow you to see what's behind it, unless the outside was ungodly bright. It's kind of the same principal as a theatrical scrim or the effect commonly known as the "magic window" or "magic mirror" effect. (like one that might be used in a live-action Snow White production for the Magic Mirror - with lights on the outside, you see the reflection, but once lights come up on the other side of the glass bright enough to overcome the light on the audience's side, you see the man in the mirror.)
Noted for the next one! This was more along the lines of "Can I do it?" so without really knowing what I was gonna get, so I picked up an EL wire kit with two strands 5 feet long, and went from there!
Now I know what this can get me, I'll continue working to improve it :) in the meantime, this is the first one :)

Sweat has definitely been a concern for me: Thats why I like EL-wire, in that its a solid wire from beginning to end without any exposed ends, which would be the biggie if I were using LEDs.
In these, Ive seen people wear them in two different configurations: Plain, or over a latex Hood. So far I havent seen any problem with sweat going up into the inside of the ears... now if the took them Diving (theres one person who has used one of these masks with scuba gear), then I'd be more worried.
The whole lighting thing is still quite new, will be Definitely interesting to see how it turns out in the long run!!

I was actually going to suggest that, or perhaps even cut out a section of the ear on the back to tuck the pack into, then glue on the part you cut out to the pack so it fits in and looks a little less conspicuous... kind of like Apple's old laptop batteries, how the outer surface of the battery was actually finished like the rest of the laptop's body.
*ping!* Yup! Thanks for getting my brain thinking about that, Its definitely the "In the Ear" idea: I'll be sealing off the bottoms of the ears, and on the Outside, between the ears and towards the back is where a short slot can be made where the battery compartment can be shoved into.
