Finished commission for Ella of her two saluki characters, Bullet and Sarah, as they take a time-out from the desert sun.
Thank you Ella, for being so patient with me! And for being so flexible. There was a lot of room for creativity, and I enjoyed this a lot when I wasn't stuck.
Feedback is welcome. :) I only ask that you be specific when suggesting improvements.
Also, I'm aware that the dog on the left's fur is thicker than it ought to be, and the back wall is less rocky than I intended. Oh, and the dog on the right is supposed to be very dark - only when I first colored this, I made her back very light. So I tried to preserve that lightness by adding strong reflections. I'm not sure it reads very well...
Anyway, enjoy!

(I think I've already told you how much I like this... but I'll tell you again anyway.)
The shadows and textures on this piece are really well done- I can almost feel the fur and I really get the sense of the respite from the heat they've found. The expressions are great, too! Expressive but also very subtle.
Awesome job!
