The tech on duty informed us during this massive surprise that my mate was about 28 weeks along, which if compared to otters--who conveniently happened to do everything in fourths compared to humans--would turn out to just under 6 months for humans, but 6 weeks for otters. Thankfully, the fact that our daughter was almost a week overdue when she finally arrived only applied to us as humans; were we otters for real, that extra week would have been most unfortunate...
