Tho Tri was not really a disaster.

it was....but, we love digimon too much to see it. just the way leomon was permanently killed off.....and meicoomon, the worst digimon ever.....and the thousand vilains, and the story arcs that were never solved...it was a mess.....but, again, our love for digimon blinded us. it was a movie series. not a regular series...and it had a filler episode.....we had to wait months for a new episode.....and it was filler......BAD FILLER. yeah, digimon was a mess. and that open ending......after almost three years.....totally not cool. they pretend we are gonna wait what, two more years for a new movie that may never happen? yeah....the only real thing digimon tri did for adventure.....was kill leomon for good, to never come back....

They rebooted the Digital World and they explicitly stated that even Digimon that died in the real world would return. So that means Leomon and Wizardmon will be back. It looks like they were setting up another sequel series with all the plot threads that were not resolved.

I do agree that meicoomon was the worst.

well, considering the lackluster sales the movies had...i am not sure that new series will happen, also, toei is too ficused on dragon ball super now. so...yeah.....digimon tri, is over. thankfully. cool if anyone likes it. their right. but, the damage they did to the best digimon season ever.....is very hard to clean up.

as for the digi world reboot....we never saw it happening.....and even so......the writers were so mean spirited with leomon, that they might just leave him dead, because they dont care anymore. yeah, i know i sound bittered, but....digimon tri was written with an amazing level of mean spirit.

But a movie made from japan and release in american is well not always goes well and I NEVER use a movie to do so if it good or not.

the trouble with tri is simple....they never understood what "budget reduction" meant.

toei drastically cutted the buidget for this project before its release, reasons? all of them are theories, the main one is, dragon ball super. but, whatever reason, toei hacked tri's budget literally in half. forcing the team behind it to change the format, from 26 wekkly tv episodes, to the movies they finally released, 6......imagine smash and mush the plot from 26 episodes, into 6 90 minutes or less movies.....instant disaster.

and you can see the tv series structure on the movies. IT EVEN HAS A FILLER MOVIE!!! literally a movie, where nothing happens, on a tv series, makes sense...sorta....but...in movies with up to 6 months of separation from each other? simply makes no sense.

and then, the villains, who was the real villain? meicoomon? (the worst digimon ever, horrible design, terrible character, and yes, she literally killed off leomon permanently....so yeah, she is literally worse than impmon.....she made impmon look good by comparison.) digimon kaizer )personally, he should have been the main villain, but...he only appears in one movie...and then, after killing the second season kids, and wormon, nothing happened.) pedo rapey young gennai (seriously...wtf was that?) the first digi destined kids? see my point? it's like 6 or 7 plots, mashed up together in movies.....it will not work.

also, animation was not the best, oh yeah, some battles had amazing animation, but others, wow. you can see the lack of money.

again, WHOEVER LIKES TRI, COOL. but, personally, this should have been its own thing, and not a direct sequel to the best season digimon ever had.

again, DIGIMON ADVENTURE IS MY ALL TIME DIGIMON SEASON EVER. and yeah...i was uber hyped about this sequel to that season, but.....it failed. because the staff never understood how much money and support from toei they lost. i even accepted the "crappy art" they showed first. i remember how internet howled in rage with thos every amateur looking art pieces. but, there i was, saying "the story will be great, because it's digimon adventure" but man...how wrong i was.

Meh, I enjoy it and I don't align with your thoughts and faulted that it didn't fail. But that where I end it at. ^_^
