Feels so strange updating again...
Pretty sure everyone's getting tired of seeing Reign around so much these days, but Halloween's coming, so I figured I'd try to get in on the action since a lot of others are coming up with costumes for their characters. And considering I hadn't worked on anything since Halloween 2006, figured it'd be interesting to see what I could come up with.
Have no idea how this came about really--was more of a side project that I worked on while I was working on another idea, but apparently I put that off for a bit to work on this.
Took forever, literally hours nonstop these past few weeks but it's finally done at long last. To explain, Reign seems to enjoy randomly hoverboarding, cruising the starry skies on Halloween night. Was originally going for a darker, more macabre style with the background and such...but it didn't really work out the way I'd hoped so oh well, went with this somewhat lighter theme instead. Almost gave up on this halfway because I was having trouble shading this thing, but my dad and two of my friends gave me some advice with the shading so I felt slightly more encouraged to finish it. The style's slightly based off of Reign Unleashed from October of last year...but also uses a few new methods I've been experimenting with lately.
As for his costume? Dunno really, guess I was aiming for a psychic zombie type of look hence the glowing purple eyes and tattered clothes/blood/displays of internal organs, though his teeth look somewhat like a vampire's here and he's got a cape...so...a psychic zombie vampire maybe? The hoverboard was a last-minute thoss-in, dunno why but yeah...it's there. Was working on this before my other friend came up with his own costume for Reign but only just now got around to finishing it...so I guess Reign has two costumes this year. Well, that's only if Reign's even wearing a "costume" here, could be some weird mutation thing...who knows...
Third update this year...man I'm slow.
Yes, lame cruddy update is lame and cruddy. It sucks, it reeks, and looks pretty bad...but hey, guess I'm pretty used to it. :b
