So it's suited for short to medium range, then. Sounds like an interesting damage curve, with spikes when the 'Mech occasionally uses it's missiles (instead of using them in conjunction with the Large Laser to add more firepower without putting too much stress on the SHS).
Now that's a sweet looking Mech.
I wouldn't mind slipping into the seat of that little beauty...
I'm not much for flaming, though, so I'd probably drop that and either upgrade my missle pack to a higher salvo rating, or add more medium lasers.
....
Took the time to figure this out (Using Mercenaries):
I'd switch the large laser out for a clan tech large laser
Remove the flamer, and depending on which standard you are using for the flamer, replace it with medium lasers equal to the slot space opened up.
Remove both SRMS and replace them with a CSMRM10.
Weight-wise, both configurations are the same, by Mercenaries standards anyway...

I dropped BOTH SRMs... but no clan tech blows that idea, anyways...
In Mercenaries (Which was my standard for this combination), 1 CSMRM10 weighs 5 tons as apposed to the combined weight of two SRMs at 6 tons. Plus the SRM4 that you jave equipped only requires 1 slot in Mercenaries, vs the MRM which takes two.
I should have been more specific about the standards I was using...
1 Flamer= 1 ton, 2 slot -1 part -1 ton
2 SRM = 3 tons, 1 slot -2 parts -6 tons
2 Med Laser= 1 ton, 1 slot +2 parts 2 +2 tons
1 Large= 5 tons, 2 slots -1 part -5 tons
0 ER= 4 tons, 2 slots +1 part +4 tons
0 CSMRM= 5 tons, 2 slots +1 part +5 tons
Total Orig= 16 tons Total New= 15 tons
Then the extra heat sink for +1 = 16 tons.
Lol.... why am I defending this position, anyways?
Excelent work, my friend. It seems I'm a little too into the series!!

Oh!
I have no clue about table top!
I thought you would've guessed that, my having to ask you what the series even was, I've never played the table top version.
That definately explains the mix up, though.
Personally, I think there should be a model like your Red Fox in Mechwarrior...
A thought I had was make it sort of similar to its anime relative, the Shadow Fox.
I know there isn't supposed to be any resemblance, but both of them remind me of the other.
A laser vulcan would actually be a rather unique weapon in Mechwarrior, wouldn't you agree?

I need to rephrase that.
A pulse laser is 2 tons and deals .45 damage on consecutive hits.
The Laser Vulcan would actually be closer to 4-5 tons, and the attack power PER BULLET, not salvo, would be 4 to 5 times more powerful than 1 laser in the three chain pulse.
Not to mention that a Vulcan can be continually fired until it jams.
More power for the weights, and more damage per salvo
I see why you would compare them, but they are in completely different leagues.
... To be honest, I think the Pulse lasers are a fail. Great idea, but, unless used correctly, completely useless.

In all truth, MechWarrior gives an unfair view on how well Pulse Lasers actually work. In Battletech, while they do weigh more, they do more damage and more accurately. Especially the clan versions, which will reach just as far (or farther) as IS ER Lasers for more damage and less heat. Small Pulse Lasers from either side are notorious Anti-Infantry weapons because they're easy to aim, vaporize infantry quickly, and you never have to let go of the trigger (Oh, and no exploding ammo). One must never underestimate the ability to not worry about ammo. :P
That aside, you basically want a Chemical Laser (They exist in Battletech. Clans use them for training) or Plasma Rifle version of the Rotary Auto-cannon System. More or less. And that's a fair want. That'd get some nasty damage out at a high rate of fire. Just keep in mind how lasers do their damage: By creating enough heat to vaporize things. This, of course, imparts heat on the user as well. Such a weapon, while certainly nasty, would likely create an equally nasty pile of heat for the firing mech. Like RACs, likely producing heat for every round fired in a salvo.
Honestly, you're right. They are in completely different leagues. For that matter, they're in completely different universes. There has been few 'mechs that have ever moved as fast as any Zoid, and often you'll find some Zoids to be far better armed then any Battlemech. And use shields. And then there are the colossal-sized Zoids. In the end, you really can't compare the two (and seriously, if you really want to try comparing these two systems anyway, go with the Large Pulse Laser. It's far closer to being equally sized).
On the bright side, at least we have interstellar warships. :P
